Last night Barnes and Hammersmith residents joined forces and painted #hammersmithbridge in Chelsea Football Club colours in an attempt to attract the likes of Roman Abramovich to buy the bridge, get it fixed, and put thousands of commuters & school children out of their daily misery.
Local resident, Helen Pennant-Rea, founder of Hammersmith Bridge SOS, was quoted as saying "Frankly at this point we'd do anything to get it sorted: we'd even consider painting it white and selling it to Tottenham Hotspur if we thought they could fix it".
